Why the name “Disquiet Dog”?

Here’s a quick look at why Disquiet Dog is called Disquiet Dog, since we get asked quite a lot!!
1. [uncountable] disquiet (about/over something)(formal) 2. feelings of worry and unhappiness about something, unease, uneasiness, worry, anxiety, anxiousness, distress, concern;
Well, away from the glamour and unending positivity which form the client-facing part of running almost any organisation, there is also for many – particularly the owner, director or senior leaders – an associated level of fear, anxiety and downright paranoia which is often hidden from view.
At Disquiet Dog, we don’t believe in not going there.
Business is a tricky business. It is sometimes isolating, lonely, and sometimes you think that only you are facing the issues you’re facing, that only you don’t know how to do this thing.
Granny always used to say “A problem shared is a problem halved”, and for good reason. Mind you, saying it just the once, would’ve sufficed, Gran.
At Disquiet Dog, we will listen to the dark stuff with the same set of ears as we will listen to your dreams, goals, vision and aspiration. There is a power in connecting the two, just the same way as staff negativity about something not going well, might be a good indicator of what you could improve for your clients. It’s all connected.
1 [countable] an animal with four legs and a tail, often kept as a pet or trained for work, for example hunting or guarding buildings. There are many types of dog, some of which are wild.
And why a Dog?
Easier. They’re loyal, you can have fun with them, they don’t judge you. Dogs are faithful, sometimes good for a bit of therapy, and packed with unending enthusiasm even when you’ve run out.
So before we get too emotional here, Disquiet Dog can help you to look at your business – or the organisation you work for – from a holistic point of view. With a deep understanding of what drives you, a connection to your fears and your dreams, we’ll always be able to give you the support that you need in the way that you need it. That works whether you need to look at wholesale organisational change, or a quick tweak to your website.
Welcome to Disquiet Dog. Time to relax and get the job done.
